If you need to upload users from an external source, you can import them with a CSV file.
To do that you can use this example CSV. Or you can create your own CSV file. Later on, you'll be able to map the column headers of this file to your Zendesk fields.
How to upload users
To use the upload feature when selecting an Audience.
When you select the Upload users option and click Next, you go to the page to upload your CSV file. Keep in mind that the first row of your CSV always is considered a Column Header.
When you upload the file, the app will automatically transform the CSV file into fields that you can map. You're always provided with the option to change the mapping. Mapping simply means, connecting your Column Header –from the CSV– to a field in Zendesk.
The options for Mapping are separated on User and Campaign.
User (this fields can be set on a user profile)
- Name
- Email Address
- Tags
- Phone Number

- Locale — The language of this person
- External ID — Caution: only use if you know why you need this
Campaign (this information will only be used in this campaign)
- Campaign Placeholder — information to be used in Subject, Message, or Ticket fields
- Skip — Use to ignore columns from your CSV

Note that the Zendesk field Name (User) is mandatory, usually, you also want to include an email address or a phone number.
